A medical history will be taken.

An assessment and observation of your walking gait.

An examination of your feet, ankles, knees, hip and lower back, whilst in a non-weight bearing position and weight bearing position.

The assessment will conclude by deciding if you might benefit from orthotics.

The payment of £30.00 is required at time of assessment.

If it is agreed that orthotics is the choice of treatment the Orthotics package will be offered to you. This includes a pair of custom made orthotics and requires 3 further appointments. The total package cost is £295.00

2nd Appointment

To this appointment you should bring with you a typical pair of shoes you wish to wear with the orthotics.

Additional assessment will be carried out if required and then a cast of your feet will be made.  This cast will be sent away to the USA and insoles will be made from these casts..

At this appointment an £85.00 non-refundable deposit will be required.

Following your 2nd appointment....... I then allow the casts to dry-out over the next 24 hours.

Next I post the casts with the prescription to the laboratory where they will be made into your own individual orthotics.

I supply the very best orthotics. The outer shell has a life time guarantee, however periodically you will need to return your devices so they can be sent to the lab  for refurbishing, i.e. putting new top covers, heel posts, bottom covers etc on them.  . There is an additional charge for this from approx £16.00 plus P+P.

With proper care most devices will last a very long time.  I use labs mostly in the USA which produce very high quality orthotic products
.

Usually the time from posting the cast until I receive the orthotics is about 3-4 weeks.

3rd Appointment
Once I receive your orthotics I will telephone you to arrange a fitting appointment.

You will try the orthotics and be given instructions on how to wear and care for your orthtotic.

Patients should realize that some conditions have developed over many years and will not disappear over night! Treatment takes time and commitment from the practitioner and patient.

The balance is due at this appointment of £210.00.

4th Appointment

A follow up appointment 6 weeks later.

Custom made insoles (orthotics) are designed to last for years but their effectiveness can be reduced by alterations in foot shape due to weight change or development of other medical conditions, so regular check ups are recommended.
